8 Reasons to Choose a Mid-Week Break

Luxury wooden cabin with decking area, fire pit and hot tub - perfect for a mid-week break

Idyllic countryside views, a wood fired hot tub and the sound of birds chirping should be enough to persuade anyone to pack a bag and head to The Meadows at Polehanger this summer for a mid-week break but if you need more, here are eight reasons to stay with us – highlighting the benefits of booking mid-week.

Peace and Quiet

Mid-week breaks are often a quieter experience compared to typical weekends, you may even have the place to yourselves if you pick a quiet time of year. Ideal if you are looking for total relaxation for some time out, a chance to read, a place to work or for inspiration to write that book.

Work from Home

The Meadows at Polehanger can offer a peaceful space without distraction in lush green surroundings – what better place for some time out of the office to get some important work done.

The cabins are fully equipped to keep you topped up with caffeine and fed and watered with ample space to prepare a nutritious meal. All have their own beautiful wooden decking area to take a break or enjoy your lunch alfresco. Reliable wi-fi and plenty of lighting options should have you working into the long hours if you need to!

Save Some Pennies

Booking a mid-week break (outside school holidays) allows you to take advantage of lower rates for your stay. We offer a £15 reduction on our rates per night Monday to Thursday.

Flexible Mid-Week Check-in Date

Whilst we have set book-in days at the weekend, should you stay with us mid-week, we are happy to accommodate a check-in day to suit you

Explore in Peace

Many of the attractions located on our doorstep will be much quieter during the week. Take advantage of this if you are lucky enough to have really young children, are retired or just want to take some time off work.

So many places to choose from in our pretty corner of Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, and all within twenty to thirty minutes of the Meadows at Polehanger. Depending on your guests and your particular interests we recommend Wrest Park, an English Heritage treat, Wimpole Hall, a National Trust beauty or Knebworth House known for its iconic music concerts.

For those looking for more excitement we have Woburn Safari Park and Whipsnade Zoo, and for younger visitors Standalone Farm.  If you are looking for an all-round family day out we suggest Shuttleworth with its collection of vintage aircraft and Swiss gardens.

Escape the Rush Hour

This reason alone, should have you booking your days off mid-week! Avoid the usual drama of long queues on the motorway and grab yourself a luxury glamping cabin for a mid-week break.

We are easily accessible via main roads from the north or south, located just 45 minutes north of London. By road we are 10-minutes from junction 10 of the A1 and 20-minutes from the M1. We are also just a 5-minute taxi ride from the nearest mainline station should you wish to travel by train.

Be Spontaneous

Why not book a last-minute break. Our mid-week prices and availability mean you can make a last-minute decision – what’s standing in the way of you and that wood fired hot tub?
